kDemons ... The Collaborative Developers Wiki
 Powered By The

We are currently in the process of revamping this site. We are also planning on launching a whole new set of websites. We are currently in the process of reserving the domain names for these sites, creating the websites themselves and adding some initial content to them. Once the sister sites are up and running, we will announce them along with kDemons in its new suit. The site is currently working fine so you can enjoy the services of the site as you usually did. As part of the revamping of the site, we disabled editing by anonymous users because of the huge amount of spam we received in the past.

RFC Repository

As a step towards kDemons main goal to become a one-place stop for developers of all fields, the RFC Repository project was created to provide reference materials for developers and protocol developers. Besides providing a mirror of all RFCs from The RFC Editor, the project's main goal is to add supplementary materials to the RFCs as time goes by and more contributors get involved in the process. The supplementary materials can be more reader-friendly versions, explanations, example implementations (when possible) and other materials of the like. Currently, we have a nearly complete mirror of the RFC documents that can be accessed from the RFC Index page or the RFC Category. The RFC Index contains links to sub-pages containing different listings of the RFCs varying in detail level and layout to make it easier to find what you want faster.

Javascript Reference

We launched a "Javascript Reference" project that will serve as a developer-contributed reference for Javascript programming and programmers. We only created a first page for the project on Javascript Reference and will work on adding sub pages shortly. The page is structured as an index to javascript features (methods, functions and objects) that should lead to a series of pages including description of the feature and its usage. If you'd like to contribute to this project, please feel free to contact me on my talk page

What's new in kDemons Wiki
  • Upload of RFC documents complete! Also, an RFC Index Page was created with many sub-pages to ease the process of finding RFCs. 21:33, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
  • Uploaded the first 500 RFC (the ones with text versions available). Also created two C# programs to be able to do that, both of which will be shared as code samples/resources/open source on this site shortly. 00:32, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Sitemap for kDemons was created! You can see the sitemap either here or by using the Sitemap link in the Navigation section of the sidebar. 22:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Started adding RFC Documents, imported from the RFC Editor site.
  • Updated the categories hive with new template categories (categorizing templates). Also updated the templates' summary page to reflect the latest changes in the license template (they display floating to the right which caused them to stack over each other in the old page). Also added a {{Note}} template. 09:46, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
  • New copyright templates were added and a templates' summary page was created. As kDemons' library of templates gets bigger, this page will be reorganized accordingly. The new templates created are: CC-BY, CC-BY-NC, CC-BY-ND, CC-BY-SA, CC-BY-NC-ND, CC-BY-NC-SA, GPL3, AGPL3 and LGPL3. 10:08, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

What is kDemons

kDemons is a collaborative resources and knowledge base for developers. Everyone can edit resources/pages in the main kDemons Wiki, ask/answer questions in the kDemons Q&A Forums, discuss policies/events and suggest new ideas in the kDemons Forum. The kDemons site currently consists of three main features:

  • kDemons Resources Base Wiki - This wiki and its content. Here you'll find most of the contents of kDemons as "resources". Each resource can have one or more wiki-pages. The feature offers a collaborative environment for developers to find what they need to know and be able to contribute their knowledge at the same time.
  • kDemons Forums and Q&A Forums - The forums serve two purposes:
    1. Ask development related questions and get answers from experienced developers in the Q&A forum.
    2. Discuss kDemons related issues such as the categorization of the site, the policies, the content and the likes in the kDemons forums.
  • kDemons Blog - Find news about the site, new content and site updates related to kDemons.
